MECHANICAL model, meaning the latch is always out and does not require a magnetic strike to function.

In addition to being a replacement, this lock can transform a door with a normal patent key (and therefore low security) into a high-security door, as a Yale-type cylinder (not supplied) can be added and easily replaced, which can also be high security (e.g., encrypted, non-reproducible keys, etc.).

However, to make this replacement from a patent lock to a Yale cylinder, it will be necessary to modify the door leaf to allow for the insertion of the cylinder and to change the escutcheons, which have a different shape.
