When the door is open, even if you turn the key, the latch does not extend (giving the impression of being faulty as it differs from common locks). However, when the door is closed, turning the key locks the handle, preventing the door from opening. If the door does not close, the defect could be in the strike plate, which has lost its magnet or is misaligned or too far from the lock. If in doubt, please contact us.
